Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has firmly expressed that he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation for his recent visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shortly after the Supreme Court’s ruling on the presidential election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor stated that the opposition’s apprehension and accusations regarding his visit are baseless, emphasizing that it’s well within his rights to visit the president as a sitting governor.
During a PDP governorship campaign event in Igbedi community, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Diri clarified that his visit had a serious state agenda, and the President positively addressed the matters discussed.
“In the realm of my duty as a sitting governor, with a sitting president in office, I have the prerogative to visit the President. The purpose of my visit was for substantial state matters, and I can confirm that Mr. President attentively addressed all the concerns I presented,” he stated confidently.
