The organized labour in Nigeria has decided to suspend the nationwide strike that commenced on Tuesday, November 14.
This decision follows a meeting between the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, with leaders of the organized labour to address the issues that led to the strike.
The National Security Adviser had earlier urged the leaders of NLC, TUC, and its various arms to reconsider the ongoing strike, emphasizing that the attackers of Joe Ajaero had been apprehended.
The President of TUC, Festus Osifo, stated that the outcomes of their discussions with government officials would be communicated to their respective organs.
The strike was initiated due to the alleged brutalization of the National President, Joe Ajaero, and the government’s failure to implement certain agreements reached on October 2, 2023.
