A woman from West Nicholson in Gwanda District bravely rescued her 18-month-old son from a baboon’s attack, displaying maternal instinct as she chased down the animal, which had dragged the child into a bush.
The baboon had bitten the baby twice and left him bruised, requiring treatment at Gwanda Provincial Hospital.
Baboons have become a menace in the area, causing property damage and posing a threat to residents.
The incident has prompted calls for a lasting solution to the escalating baboon problem, with authorities engaging in efforts to address the issue.
