Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has instructed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide substantial support and mobilize relief materials for the victims of a drone attack on Tudun Biri community in Kaduna State.
During his visit to Kaduna, Vice President Shettima expressed concern and directed NEMA to ensure the affected individuals receive ample relief materials.
He also announced the government’s Pullako Initiative, aimed at enhancing the lives of rural dwellers and revitalizing communities impacted by insecurity, with Tudun Biri being the inaugural beneficiary.
The initiative encompasses housing, clinics, schools, veterinary facilities, empowerment programs, and solar energy.
Vice President Shettima commended religious leaders and community elders for avoiding the politicization of the incident and maintaining calm.
At the hospital, the Chief Medical Director reported receiving 71 victims with varying degrees of injuries, some of whom were referred to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
The relief materials set for delivery include 500 bags each of maize, rice, and beans (10 kilograms each), along with vegetable oil, salt, and seasoning.
Notable figures present during the visit included Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Governor Uba Sani, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Minister of Defence Ibrahim Badaru, and other senior government officials.
