An inquiry is in progress after a man, Sergey Vladimirovich Ochigava, traveled from Europe to the US without a ticket, passport, or visa, landing at Los Angeles International Airport without any record of his presence on the flight.
The FBI is investigating the incident, and Ochigava, a Russian-Israeli dual national, has been charged with stowing away on an aircraft.
The passenger, who claimed he wasn’t sure how he managed it, exhibited peculiar behavior on the Scandinavian Airlines flight, leading to heightened scrutiny by flight crew and border officers in California.
The airline and Copenhagen Airport are cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
