The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has urged the US Department of Education to investigate the expulsion of Jad Abuhamda, a Palestinian American high school student, and the firing of his mother, Dr. Maha Almasri, from Pine Crest School.
The school cited Almasri’s social media posts as “hateful and incendiary,” while CAIR claims they were taken out of context and not inciting violence.
The situation involves allegations of bias against pro-Palestinian views, prompting CAIR to seek an investigation to protect individuals from unfair punishment for criticizing Israel’s actions.
