On Friday, the State Emblems Redesign Commission chose flag F1935 as the foundation for the upcoming state flag.
Adjustments to the design are scheduled for the commission’s next meeting on Tuesday.
This design, crafted by Andrew Prekker of Luverne, incorporates the North Star, the outline of Minnesota, and three bars symbolizing snow, nature, and water.
Pending any veto from state legislators, the flag is expected to be officially unveiled in May after submission.
