The Nigerian and Indonesian governments recently solidified a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a coal-based fertilizer plant in Nigeria, aiming to boost agricultural production and enhance food security.
The pivotal moment transpired during the signing ceremony of a production license agreement between the National Agency for Science and Engineering Technology (NASENI) and the Indonesian company, PT Saputra Global Harvest, in Abuja. Khalil Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, expressed optimism about the collaboration, highlighting its potential for innovation, technology transfer, and industrialization in Nigeria.
The agreement with Saputra encompasses machinery supply, capacity development, and licensing for coal-based fertilizer production adhering to quality standards.
