President Bola Tinubu has announced a substantial reduction in transportation costs for inter-state travel.
From December 21st to January 4th, citizens will benefit from a 50% discount on bus fares and complimentary train rides, as revealed by Minister Dele Alake during a press briefing at the Aso Rock Villa on December 20, 2023.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to easing financial burdens, Alake stated, “Beginning from tomorrow, December 21, Nigerians willing to travel can board public transport via mini buses, luxury buses at 50% discount, and all train services at zero cost during this holiday season.”
The Federal Government, in collaboration with transporters and unions, assures smooth implementation of this initiative, excluding air travel, as it specifically targets the masses.
As Nigerians prepare for the holiday season, the government’s move is expected to provide relief and facilitate easier travel nationwide.
