The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced on Thursday that parts of the Third Mainland Bridge, closed last month, would reopen on December 21, 2023, at 6 pm.
The entire bridge is now fully accessible after essential maintenance, ensuring smoother connectivity and safe commuting.
Osiyemi commended Nigerians for their patience during the closure, emphasizing the government’s commitment to public safety and infrastructure.
The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works, had previously notified the public about the closure for repairs.
The Third Mainland Bridge, Africa’s second-largest, links Lagos Island and the mainland, serving as a crucial transportation route for millions daily.
