A missile accidentally dropped by a Russian aircraft caused destruction in the village of Petropavlovka in the Voronezh region.
Russia’s Defense Ministry admitted the incident, with videos on social media depicting a substantial crater and scattered debris.
The occurrence coincided with Russia’s extensive missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, resulting in casualties.
Ukraine’s adviser, Anton Gerashchenko, confirmed the incident and urged Russians in targeted regions to seek shelters during the attacks.
Former Ukrainian President Zelensky’s adviser described it as “karma” for Russia’s missile blitz on Ukraine.
Voronezh regional Gov. Alexander Gusev reported no casualties, and affected residents were relocated to temporary housing.
Despite damage assessment efforts, tensions persisted as Ukraine faced continued missile threats.
