In a significant quarterly update to the world’s most powerful passports, six countries—France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain—share the top spot, granting visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 194 destinations, a record since the Henley Passport Index began 19 years ago.
Europe sees a triumphant rise, with Finland and Sweden tied with South Korea in second place, and Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands in third.
The United Arab Emirates has climbed significantly in the past decade, securing 11th place.
However, the global mobility gap widens, with the top countries having access to 166 more destinations than Afghanistan, the lowest-ranked.
Other passport indexes, like Arton Capital’s, also provide varying rankings based on different criteria.
