The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has officially moved its headquarters back to Lagos after consultations with key stakeholders.
The decision, communicated by Mrs Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, cites practical reasons, including the lack of office space in Abuja and the financial strain caused by the previous relocation.
The Minister plans to engage concessionaires to construct suitable offices in both Lagos and Abuja. Until then, FAAN will manage its existing building in Lagos for its Directors and senior officials.
Operational offices in Abuja remain unaffected.
The final decision on the permanent headquarters will be made in the future.
The Minister prioritizes decisions in the best interest of the country and public funds, emphasizing a commitment to avoiding sentiments that may compromise this commitment.
