In south-western Syria, suspected Jordanian air strikes claimed the lives of at least 10 individuals, including children, destroying homes in Arman, Suweida province.
It’s believed their forces targeted alleged drug smugglers.
The surge in smuggling is attributed by Jordan and Western allies to Iran-backed militias in Syria.
The strikes, condemned as a “massacre,” occurred in residential areas, resulting in casualties such as Omar Talab, Turki al-Halabi, and their families.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported at least nine fatalities and criticized Jordanian warplanes for violating Syrian territory.
This marks a concerning escalation, with previous strikes in January targeting areas suspected of drug-related activities.
