During a baptism in a local river, a South African ‘prophet’ tragically drowned and was later found surrounded by crocodiles in the Olifants River in Limpopo.
The 48-year-old encountered difficulties during the prayer ceremony, leading to suspicions that crocodiles attacked him.
Despite efforts by two others present, the ‘prophet’ could not be located.
Authorities have cautioned locals against swimming or conducting spiritual activities in crocodile-infested rivers.
South Africa is home to the Nile Crocodile, known for its danger, with adult males reaching up to nearly 12 feet in length and weighing between 500 and 1,650 pounds.
In a separate incident, a British safari guide narrowly escaped a crocodile-filled river after following Google Maps directions that led him into a flooded bridge in Kruger National Park.
