President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given approval for funds to be allocated to the construction of the Lafia bypass, Second Niger Bridge bypass, and the Lagos-Ibadan highway.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, expressed gratitude for the president’s swift approval, highlighting that delays in these projects were previously linked to financial constraints.
Umahi also praised the president for addressing funding issues and ensuring the immediate release of funds for the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road, Lagos-Ibadan highway, and Second Niger Bridge bypasses.
The minister acknowledged the cooperation of Benue and Enugu governors in facilitating seamless work on the Makurdi-Otukpo-9th mile road financed by China Exim Bank.
Notably, Umahi mentioned earlier challenges in commencing the construction of approach roads for the Second Niger Bridge due to funding constraints.
