The Nigerian Presidency strongly criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s call for President Bola Tinubu’s resignation, labeling it “reckless” amid rising security incidents.
Abubakar claimed the President inadequately addressed economic and security challenges, countered by the Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, who asserted Tinubu’s effective management of security.
The Presidency accused Atiku of opportunistic politics, highlighting Tinubu’s efforts, including involvement in addressing the minimum wage and approving funds for security.
The statement urged Atiku to acknowledge Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace and emphasized ongoing efforts by security agencies.
Atiku, President Tinubu’s main challenger in the 2023 election, secured second place.
