Five U.S. Marines reported missing in Southern California have been confirmed dead following a helicopter crash, as announced by the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW).
The tragic incident occurred during a training flight from Creech Air Force Base in Nevada to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.
Severe storms in Southern California and challenging terrain complicated search efforts, but the helicopter was located, and recovery operations are now underway.
