Katy Perry has officially declared her departure from the $25 million per season role on American Idol after the upcoming 22nd season.
The announcement came during her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where she mentioned her upcoming commitment to Rock in Rio and hinted at working on a new album and possible world tour.
This news surprised her fellow judges and host on American Idol, and Perry confirmed her exit through an Instagram post.
When Perry initially joined the show in 2018, her substantial $25 million salary drew attention, representing a significant portion of the talent budget.
