The United Kingdom is poised to finalize an agreement with Nigeria, allowing British legal practitioners to offer legal services in Nigeria.
This move, highlighted in a Tuesday press release by the UK government, is expected to boost trade and investment between the two nations.
The UK’s Department of Business and Trade emphasizes that the forthcoming agreement will not only strengthen collaboration but also extend beyond finance, enhancing the existing $7 billion bilateral collaboration.
Kemi Badenoch, the British Business and Trade Secretary, sees this partnership as an opportunity to tap into Nigeria’s rapidly growing economy, expressing anticipation for continued success in the relationship.
The agreement, named the Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership (ETIP), marks the UK’s first such contract with an African nation, underscoring the economic potential presented by Nigeria.
