Residents in the Iju Ishaga area of Lagos State were startled by an explosion.
The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that firefighters are on-site at Agbado Road, Toyin Bus Stop.
The incident, reported at 22:04hrs on Tuesday, appears to be a result of a gas tanker catching fire, leading to an explosion confined to the tanker and nearby shops.
Passersby worked to prevent further spread to a nearby Kerosene Petroleum Filling Station.
The public is reassured of their safety, with a warning to avoid the scene and naked flames in the vicinity for now.
