Egypt’s Minister of Transportation, Kamel Al-Wazir, is planning to construct a logistics corridor stretching from Tanzania’s Dar Es Salaam Port, passing through a logistics area and dry port in Tanzania, and concluding at a dry port and logistics area in Rwanda.
The aim is to enhance Egyptian exports’ access to African markets and strengthen ties with African nations.
To facilitate trade movements and alleviate congestion at seaports, the Ministry has established a network of 27 dry ports and logistical zones across Egypt.
Minister Kamel Al-Wazir recently inspected the Kigali Dry Port in Rwanda, a significant African project covering 50,000 square meters with an annual capacity of 50,000 equivalent container units.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s commitment, directed by political leadership, to position Egypt as a global trade and logistics hub by improving connectivity between Egyptian ports and those worldwide.
