Starting from Monday, Feb. 26, McDonald’s globally transformed into “WcDonald’s” in an anime-inspired makeover, flipping its iconic golden “M” upside down.
WcDonald’s, a fictional fast food chain seen in over 100 anime films and shows, originated in a 1983 episode of Cat’s Eye.
The temporary name change is part of a collaboration with major names in anime.
Celebrating this transformation, McDonald’s introduces a new sauce, manga-inspired packaging, episodic shorts, and more.
The limited-time Savory Chili WcDonald’s Sauce, designed with input from Japanese manga artist h Acky Bright, pairs with menu items served in custom WcDonald’s packaging.
McDonald’s also partners with Studio Pierrot to produce the first official WcDonald’s anime, featuring weekly shorts and manga.
Additionally, an Immersive Dining Experience in Los Angeles on March 9-10 offers a genre-bending fusion of entertainment and food. Reservations can be made through Openable starting Feb. 28.
