Pope Francis underwent a hospital check-up in Rome, as reported by ANSA.
However, officials stated the examination was negative, and he has returned to the Vatican.
The 87-year-old pontiff, who skipped a reading at his Wednesday audience, cited not feeling well.
Earlier, he was seen in a wheelchair, and the Vatican described the illness as a mild flu.
Pope Francis, who had part of a lung removed in his youth, has faced respiratory issues, with previous hospitalizations for bronchitis and breathing problems.
