The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) accused the Federal Government of divisive tactics and manipulation, claiming that threats led to the cancellation of a two-day protest.

Expressing concern over fortified government offices, NLC leaders vowed not to succumb to intimidation.

President Joe Ajaero stated they’d only engage with the government if mass actions were not declared.

Ajaero criticized the government’s meeting strategy on the eve of protests, labeling it outdated and intending to demobilize.

Allegations of divide-and-rule strategies and broken agreements, like the non-functional Port Harcourt refinery, were also voiced during a press briefing in Abuja.
