More than 40 nations on Monday called for an impartial international inquiry into the death of Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny.
They assert that President Vladimir Putin bears ultimate responsibility for the incident, as expressed in a joint statement at the UN Human Rights Council by EU ambassador Lotte Knudsen on behalf of 43 countries.
