A “technical problem” on a LATAM flight from Sydney to Auckland resulted in approximately 50 injuries, requiring medical treatment at an airport in New Zealand.
The incident, involving an 8-year-old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, caused a sudden drop, throwing passengers and crew into the cabin ceiling.
Twelve individuals, including one in serious condition, were taken to hospitals.
LATAM acknowledged the “technical problem” and apologized for the inconvenience and injuries caused during the flight.
