The 32nd annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars viewing party on March 10 saw Hollywood’s elite in attendance.
Elton John, alongside his husband David Furnish, made a rare appearance as he continues his recovery from surgery.
The “Rocket Man” singer recently underwent a knee replacement in January and is scheduled for another surgery on his other knee later this month.
David Furnish shared that Elton is doing remarkably well and joked that by summer, Elton will have “two brand new spanking knees,” even teasing that he might see him breakdancing down the carpet next year.
Elton’s recent health challenges include hip surgery in 2021 and a fall in his France home in August 2023, which led to a hospital visit as a precautionary measure.
Despite these setbacks, Elton successfully concluded his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in July 2023, expressing gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support.
While Elton hinted at retirement during his memorable set at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2023, David believes he may still perform occasionally but won’t embark on extensive tours anymore.
With an illustrious career spanning over five decades, Elton John’s fans remain hopeful for more music in the future, even if it comes in the form of smaller, intimate shows as he enjoys time with his family.
