The remains of the 17 officers and soldiers who lost their lives in the Okuama village on March 14 during a peacekeeping mission will be laid to rest in Abuja tomorrow.
The burial ceremony, set for 3 p.m., is scheduled to occur at the National Cemetery in Abuja.
As per a press release from the Nigerian Army, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour.
It is remembered that enraged youths killed the commanding officer, a Lieutenant Colonel, two Majors, and one Captain in the Okuama area.
Allegedly, the perpetrators mutilated their bodies and removed their hearts.
