The Federal Government is enhancing security measures on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos by installing closed-circuit television (CCTV) and solar lights as part of the ongoing restoration efforts.
The bridge, one of Africa’s longest, has been undergoing repairs for weeks, causing traffic congestion.
Works Minister David Umahi mentioned that alongside the bridge’s rehabilitation, CCTV installation aims to deter criminal activities and illegal mining in the vicinity.
Umahi also expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, foreseeing his re-election in 2027, attributing it to divine intervention and pledging support for the administration’s efforts to restore and empower Nigeria.
