Don Lemon, the former CNN anchor, and his partner Tim Malone have tied the knot in New York City.
Lemon, 58, and Malone, 38, exchanged vows on Saturday, April 6, at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan.
The ceremony was officiated by Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, who is a close friend of the couple.
Around 140 guests attended the wedding, which incorporated traditions from both Lemon and Malone’s backgrounds.
The celebration included an Irish blessing led by Malone’s sisters and concluded with the couple jumping over a broom, honoring a symbolic tradition from the American South.
The newlyweds booked out the bottom floor of Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar for the weekend, where they had their first date.
Celebrity guests such as Clive Davis, Joy Behar, and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin were expected to attend.
Ahead of the wedding, Lemon and Malone shared moments from their pre-wedding festivities on Instagram, including a pre-wedding call from Vice President Kamala Harris. Malone’s 40th birthday also coincided with the wedding day.
Reflecting on their decision to have a traditional wedding, Malone emphasized the importance of making a public statement and involving loved ones in their celebration.
The couple began dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2019 when Malone proposed on his birthday.
Don Lemon, who publicly came out as gay in 2011, expressed joy and excitement about the next chapter of his life with Malone, emphasizing that their relationship felt real and promising a future that includes marriage and possibly children.
