A Jamaican teenager has made history by breaking Usain Bolt’s world record in the Under-17 400m event.

Nickecoy Bramwell surpassed the eight-time Olympic gold medallist’s time by 0.07 seconds, achieving this remarkable feat while maintaining focus on the record-breaking attempt.

Bramwell, currently a student at Calabar High in Kingston, appears poised to follow in the footsteps of greatness by surpassing one of Bolt’s notable records.

Usain Bolt, renowned as the world’s fastest man, is currently participating in Soccer Aid and recently shared that Marcus Rashford could potentially outpace him in a 20-yard sprint.

Apart from his Olympic triumphs, Bolt has secured 11 World Championship titles and maintains world records in the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m relay.

Despite never specializing in the 400m beyond youth levels, Bolt, now 37 and retired since 2017, dedicates much of his time to family and charitable engagements such as Soccer Aid, where he continues to showcase his passion for athletics.

Bolt is also committed to nurturing the next generation of athletes.

Reflecting on his legacy, Bolt expressed his eagerness to contribute more significantly to sports development.

He emphasized the importance of cultivating personalities within sports and expressed optimism for the future of athletics.
