A tragic incident occurred as a beautician, Inessa Polenko, aged 39, fell 170 feet to her death while attempting to take a selfie at a cliffside viewing platform in Abkhazia, Georgia.
Inessa had crossed a barrier and lost her footing, tumbling down onto a beach below. Despite prompt medical attention, she passed away in hospital.
The Gagry viewing point, situated in the picturesque region of Abkhazia overlooking the Black Sea, was the location of this unfortunate accident.
Inessa, an avid Instagram user with 9,000 followers, frequently shared selfies from her global travels, including destinations like Dubai, Egypt, and Crimea.
Although primarily based in Sochi, a major Russian resort city, she also had clients in Moscow. Her funeral took place today in Sochi.
Authorities in Abkhazia, a territory under Russian influence and distinct from Georgia, are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to Inessa’s tragic demise.
