The Katsina State Government has announced that Friday, April 12, 2024, will be a designated holiday to commemorate the Eid-el-Fitr festival, marking the conclusion of Ramadan fasting.
This decision follows the Federal Government’s extension of Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11, aligning with the initial declaration of Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, for the celebrations.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda, represented by the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Zango, highlighted that extending the holiday would enable workers in the state to fully engage in the festivities with their families.
Governor Radda also emphasized the importance of maintaining security awareness and offering prayers during this festive period.
The official statement titled “Eid-Fitr: Gov Dikko Radda Declares Friday, 12th April, 2024, Work-Free Day,” was issued to the press on Tuesday, affirming the additional holiday declaration to facilitate a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration for the people of Katsina state.
Governor Radda extended warm wishes for the occasion and urged everyone to prioritize security consciousness and pray for peace across the state and the nation during this year’s Eid-el-Fitr festivities.
