According to TMZ and Fox, retired NFL running back O.J. Simpson has passed away at the age of 76 after battling prostate cancer, his family confirmed on Thursday.
In a statement shared on his personal Twitter account, Simpson’s family announced, “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.
He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Rumors of Simpson’s cancer diagnosis surfaced in February, with some reports suggesting he was in hospice care. Simpson addressed these rumors in a video posted online, denying that he was in hospice and expressing skepticism about media accuracy.
