NIGERIA:Covenant University Ranks First Among Nigerian Universities in Latest Ranking”

Covenant University (CU), a prestigious private Christian university in Ogun State, has secured the top position in the list of best universities in Nigeria, as per the Times Higher Education’s 2024 World Universities Rankings.

The latest rankings, released on Thursday, cover 108 countries and regions globally.

Out of 39 Nigerian universities that made the list, Covenant University emerged as the leader.

Other top-ranking institutions include the University of Ibadan (UI), Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), University of Lagos (UNILAG), and Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

Globally, the University of Oxford continues to hold the top spot in the rankings for the eighth consecutive year.

The 2024 rankings involved a comprehensive analysis that considered over 134 million citations from 16.5 million research publications, as well as feedback from 68,402 scholars worldwide.

Overall, Nigeria contributed 411,789 data points from over 2,673 institutions, as reported by The Times Higher Education.
