According to a U.S. military official speaking to Fox News Digital, American forces in the region remain vigilant, ready to defend against further threats and to safeguard U.S. personnel operating in the area.
The incident occurred following Iran’s launch of over 100 drones towards Israel, accompanied by ballistic missiles, in retaliation for an airstrike on an Iranian consulate building in Syria that resulted in the deaths of high-ranking Iranian officials.
ABC News notes that the U.S. military possesses various assets capable of countering Iranian threats across the region.
Prior to these events, President Joe Biden had expressed unwavering support for Israel, promising robust assistance in the event of an Iranian military offensive.
Additionally, there are reports that the Jordanian military also intercepted numerous Iranian drones on Saturday.
