Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has come under fire for dismissing a church member’s testimony during a Sunday service on April 14.
During the service, Anyim Veronica Nnenna shared her joy at being the first in her family to graduate with a “Bsc. in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). However, Dr. Enenche abruptly interrupted her, claiming her testimony was false, and instructed her to leave the pulpit.
In response to the incident, a video went viral showing Anyim in her convocation gown, along with a list of NOUN graduates that included her name among those who received an LLB in Law during the convocation on Saturday, April 13.
Many Nigerians have demanded an apology from Dr. Enenche for publicly embarrassing Anyim without verifying her claims.
Despite the emerging evidence, neither Dr. Enenche nor the Dunamis church has released any statement addressing the situation.
In the meantime, Anyim has spoken out about the incident on her Facebook page, breaking her silence on Monday.
“It’s disheartening because I couldn’t speak English like lawyers. I was labelled a liar for mistakenly saying B.Sc instead of LLB. Actually, I graduated with a Third Class at NOUN.
“The rejected stone can become the cornerstone. We’re reminded not to look down on anyone.
“U can’t imagine what I endured throughout the service. How shattered I must have felt to be disgraced by my spiritual leader in such a manner?
She wrote, “I am No. 2262 on the list. “I Vera deserves better now.”
