Travelers planning to visit Brazil in 2025 will face new entry requirements, including providing bank account statements alongside their passports.
This visa program will apply to citizens of the US, Canada, and Australia, who will also need to pay an $80.90 fee for a visa that’s valid for ten years with multiple entries allowed, though stays are limited to 90 days per year.
The requirement, while new in its reimplementation, isn’t unfamiliar territory; prior to 2019, US travelers needed visas to enter Brazil.
This change comes after the removal and subsequent reintroduction of the visa requirement by Brazil’s government to maintain reciprocity.
Travelers will also need to present a letter of intent outlining their trip details, residence proof, return tickets, and financial statements showing at least $2,000.
The visa application process, handled by VFS, should ideally begin two months before departure and takes about five working days.
Additionally, Brazilian travelers to the US face their own visa challenges and fees.
