The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) shut down a Chinese supermarket in Abuja affiliated with the China General Chamber of Commerce after allegations surfaced that Nigerians were being denied service there.
During an inspection on April 22, FCCPC officials questioned Nigerian employees of the supermarket and reviewed CCTV footage showing the owner, Cindy Liu Bei, and her family leaving the premises at 8:26 am. Following this, the supermarket was sealed by FCCPC officials.
