Hamas released a video on Wednesday featuring an Israeli-American hostage named Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was captured during an attack on October 7th.
In the propaganda footage, the 23-year-old is shown with his left arm missing several inches above the hand, as reported by Reuters.
Goldberg-Polin sustained injuries during Hamas’ assault at the Nova music festival, and a previous video filmed on the day of the attack depicted him severely wounded.
The newly edited video, released without a specific date, captures Goldberg-Polin criticizing the Benjamin Netanyahu government for “neglecting” the hostages.
In response to the Hamas video, Polin’s parents issued a video message expressing relief at seeing him alive after “almost 200 days” in captivity. They urged world leaders to take action and secure a deal for the release of the hostages.
“Seeing him in the video is overwhelming, and we are relieved that he’s alive. However, we are concerned about his health and well-being, as well as that of the other hostages,” his father stated.
“We are appealing to all world leaders involved in negotiations, including Qatar, Egypt, the United States, Hamas, and Israel. Be courageous, engage actively, seize this opportunity, secure a deal to release our loved ones, and put an end to the suffering in this region,” he added.
