Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN) has introduced a new grocery delivery subscription service for Prime members and customers using EBT. This service is now available in over 3,500 cities and towns across the United States.
For Prime members, the subscription costs $9.99 per month and offers unlimited grocery delivery for orders over $35 from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and local grocery and specialty retailers on Amazon.com.
Customers with a registered EBT card can access the grocery subscription benefits without a Prime membership for $4.99 per month.
The subscription includes one-hour delivery windows at no additional cost and unlimited 30-minute pickup for orders of any size.
Tony Hoggett, senior vice president of worldwide grocery stores at Amazon, highlighted that this new benefit provides added value and savings on delivery fees for customers who frequently order groceries from Amazon’s various platforms.
The aim of this service is to simplify grocery shopping by offering convenient one-hour delivery windows where available and priority access to Recurring Reservations for weekly orders.
Amazon’s grocery subscription has received positive feedback following successful trials in select cities.
More than 85% of respondents reported high satisfaction levels with the free delivery benefit, emphasizing savings on fees and increased convenience as key reasons for continuing the subscription.
