Madonna, U.S. pop icon, has achieved a new record for the largest stand-alone concert audience in history, drawing 1.6 million attendees at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Live Nation confirmed this milestone, surpassing the previous record of 1.5 million set by the Rolling Stones in 2006 at the same venue.
Live Nation noted that aside from the annual New Year’s Eve event, the Rolling Stones held the previous record for nearly two decades.
The anticipation for Madonna’s first performance in Brazil in over a decade led to weeks of excitement among fans, who gathered to witness the final show of her highly successful Celebration Tour.
Copacabana Beach transformed into a colossal dance floor as Madonna showcased hits from her extensive music catalog.
This concert marked the conclusion of Madonna’s Celebration Tour, which commenced in October.
