Country star Kevin Hernandez and his entire family were tragically murdered in a horrific ambush.
Kevin Amalio Hernandez and his wife Marisela Sandoval were discovered dead on a highway after their pickup truck was struck by 150 bullets.
The country singer was touring the state and performing live concerts when their convoy came under attack.
Marisela’s body was found beside the passenger door of their pickup truck, while Kevin was discovered inside a Chevrolet Malibu that was riddled with bullets in Chihuahua on May 5.
Their 17-year-old son succumbed to his injuries the following day at the hospital, while their other two children, aged 14 and four, along with their maternal grandmother, were rushed to medical facilities for treatment. Fortunately, they are reported to be recovering from their wounds according to local sources.
The family’s convoy of vehicles was ambushed and severely damaged during the attack. Tragically, a new song by Hernandez titled “If God Takes Me With Him” was released shortly after the devastating incident. The lyrics of the song, translated from Spanish, convey sentiments of eternal love and protection.
Kevin Hernandez gained fame as part of the country band H Nortena and had been touring extensively in Chihuahua with live performances. The Mexican music community has been mourning his loss and paying tribute to his memory.
Fellow band member Luis Fernando Peinado, known as El Dolar, expressed deep sorrow, remarking that the band’s latest recording would now carry special significance in light of Hernandez’s untimely passing.
