During a reception for military families in Abuja, Prince Harry shared his experience of meeting 50 wounded soldiers during a recent visit to northern Kaduna.
He noted that although their injuries were life-defining, he was inspired by the resilience of those soldiers who still managed to smile.
Prince Harry expressed his admiration for the “power of seeing what is possible post injury,” referencing his visit and the plans for the new Invictus Centre, which deeply moved him.
Living in the United States with Meghan and their two children since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Harry reflected on his time serving as a military helicopter pilot in Afghanistan.
Abike Dabiri Erewa, chairperson of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, delighted Meghan by referring to her as “Princess Meghan,” acknowledging Meghan’s Nigerian heritage mentioned in a podcast.
During the reception, Meghan animatedly cheered on Prince Harry during a volleyball match, enthusiastically celebrating his team’s points.
