Emirates Airlines announced on Thursday that it will resume daily operations in Nigeria starting October 1, 2024.
The airline will offer a daily service between Lagos and Dubai using a Boeing 777-300ER, with tickets available for booking through their website or travel agents.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airlines, expressed excitement about resuming services to Nigeria, noting the popularity of the Lagos-Dubai route among Nigerian customers.
Emirates aims to reconnect leisure and business travelers to Dubai and its extensive network of over 140 destinations.
Kazim also thanked the Nigerian government for their partnership and support in re-establishing this route, emphasizing Emirates’ commitment to welcoming passengers back onboard.
Emirates Airlines had suspended its Dubai-Lagos flights in 2022 due to challenges in repatriating funds from Nigeria, which had led to diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
President Bola Tinubu subsequently met with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi to address the diplomatic issues, paving the way for the resumption of Emirates’ operations in Nigeria.
