Johnny Wactor, a 37-year-old actor known for his role in “General Hospital,” was shot and killed in Los Angeles during an attempted theft of his car’s catalytic converter.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined that Wactor died from a gunshot wound to the chest, ruling his death a homicide.
According to the LAPD, the incident occurred early Saturday morning in downtown LA, where Wactor confronted three individuals stealing his converter. The suspects shot him without provocation.
Wactor was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
In an emotional statement, Wactor’s talent agent praised him as a hardworking and resilient person.
The suspects are still at large, and the case is under investigation by the LAPD’s Central Bureau Homicide division.
