Travelers interested in this deal must book by 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday.
The discounted tickets are available on select days and routes, including flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations, as detailed by Southwest.
For flights within the lower 48 states, eligible travel dates are Mondays-Thursdays or Saturdays between August 6 and December 18, with blackout dates on September 2, October 14, November 22-27, and November 29 to December 2.
Flights to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations are available on Tuesdays or Wednesdays between August 20 and November 20, with a blackout date on September 3.
Some examples of routes currently offering $53 fares are Atlanta to Tampa and Los Angeles to Phoenix.
