A minor fire occurred at the Dangote refinery in Lagos on Wednesday, June 26, specifically at the effluent treatment plant (ETP).
Anthony Chiejina, the refinery’s spokesperson, confirmed in a signed statement that the fire was quickly brought under control.
He reassured the public that there was no need for concern, as refinery operations continued without interruption, and no injuries or harm to staff were reported.
Chiejina stated, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday, 26th of June. There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating, and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.”
