On Friday, 103 Nigerians were deported from Turkey and arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
They landed at 6:45 p.m. on a Southwind Airlines flight, registration number TC-GRB, at the airport’s pilgrims’ wing.
Upon arrival, they were met by various government agencies, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Services (DSS), and military personnel.
The deportees, expressing their anger, claimed they were unfairly treated and detained for over 11 months before being sent back. They called on the Nigerian government to advocate for them and recover their belongings.
